HALAL certification

Scope of Halal Certification
The next stage of Sucofindo’s halal certification includes a number of steps as follows:

  1. Application, submit documents via SIHALAL
online only via BPJPH’s SIHALAL application. The submitted application and documents will then be verified by BPJPH.

  2. Payment by Business Actors
After the documents are declared complete by BPJPH, then BPJPH issues an invoice based on filling in and approving the LPH fee in the SIHALAL application. After the business actor pays the fee to BPJPH, BPJPH then issues a Document Receipt Letter (STTD) as proof that the application for halal certification has been received.

  3. Product Halal Inspection and/or Testing
LPH carries out inspections/audits to ensure the adequacy and completeness of documents, then ensures the conformity of documents with implementation in the field through site visits. If further examination is required, testing is carried out.

  4. Improvements and Reporting
Business actors take corrective action for audit discrepancies (if any) and submit proof of corrective action for further verification until they are declared to have met the requirements of the Halal Product Guarantee System criteria. Next, LPH prepares a product halal inspection/audit report and submits the report to the MUI.

  5. Halal Determination by the MUI Fatwa Commission/Halal Fatwa Committee
The MUI fatwa commission/Halal Fatwa Committee determines halal based on inspection/audit reports by LPH and issues a Halal Decree (KH). This halal certification process has not been completed and is not a Halal Certificate. Halal determination is not given to applicants/business actors.

  6. Issuance of Halal Certificate by BPJPH
BPJPH issues Halal Certificates in the form of e-certificates based on Halal Determinations from the MUI Fatwa Commission/Halal Fatwa Committee and submits them directly to business actors on the SIHALAL application.
